Simple Stuff & Living Well

Well, it has been quite a while since my last “post” and I have done a lot of reflecting, I have also discovered that everyone has found a niche that they decide to stay in and that I haven't actually been able to find a single blog that is relevant to me.  So the question is, do I continue with this blog stuff or do I stop?  If a few of you have been reading my blog and you are wondering why I don’t post more recipes I have an answer for you, although I don’t think you are going to like it.  I don’t cook by recipes.  There it is, plain, simple and honest.  The only time I will follow a recipe specifically is if I am baking and even then I have a tendency to deviate.  Being able to cook and being able to pull together a meal is, much to the dismay of most, a craft that you have to learn and practice, A LOT.  My husband asked me why I hadn’t written more this summer like I had planned to and I admit I had to think about it for a while, what I came up with interested me.  Life is too short to make life more complicated than it needs to be.  In other words, documenting my recipes was taking too much time.  I also have come back to the realization that I am interested in much m
ore than just cooking and that perhaps, my public (so ridiculous) would like to know more about how to live well and VERY inexpensively.  Maybe I have lessons that I can share with people, like
how to can, how to garden, how to put together outfits using the more expensive stores as guides – not rules.
I was at the pharmacy yesterday and I noticed the new Oprah magazine cover and was astonished.  They were bragging about how little she spent to put her outfit together, they claim that you can do it for under $100 but what they actually do is purchase each piece for under $100.  I don’t know about you but I am just really not that impressed – do you have any idea how easy it is to put together a single outfit with that type of budget?!?!?  I have come to the decision that I am going to use this blog to share all of my interests as I can’t be the only Eco- Conscious, Cheap, Fashioniasta, Decorator, Baker, Chef out there….. Right?????  So anyway, we will see how this goes.  If nothing else this makes me feel like my favorite TV Show Character…. Doogie Howser.  :)  I hope you enjoy the new direction that I am taking and please bare with me as I play with the layout and format…
